As the summer ends and the weather gets colder it can often impact the skin. Dry, flaky, dull skin is often a result of not having a balanced skincare routine. It’s important to prepare your skin for the winter ahead, here are Bella Style Salon’s top tips for getting your skin fall ready no matter your skin type!
At Bella, we highly recommend to every client to give one of our custom facials a try; we offer both 50-minute and 80-minute facials tailored to your individual skin needs.
All Skin Types: One of Bella’s Estheticians, Kayla advises to cool down your water temperature. Use warm water when cleansing your skin, rather to hot water. Hot water can dry out the skin and may cause further irritation.
Dry Skin: Most people’s skin tends to get drier as the temperature drops. It is especially important for those with already dry skin to keep their skin moisturized during the colder months. Our Esthetician, Megan advises her clients with dry skin to use a heavier moisturizer during the colder months
Oily Skin: Kayla informs us that even oily skin needs extra attention in the cold months. She recommends to exfoliate 2-3 times a week and use an oil-free moisturizer.
Combination Skin: Those who have both dry and oily skin should switch their cleanser this time of year. Foaming cleansers tend to be a better option to fight oil in the summer, but can be drying in the wintertime. Kayla recommends using the Dermaware Pure & Gentle Cleanser to keep the skin clean, clear, and balanced.
Acneic Skin: Blemish-prone skin is always benefitted by routine exfoliation, but during the colder months a gentle exfoliation is best to not irritate the skin. Our Estheticians recommend the Dermaware Bare Fruit Mask 2-3 times a week.
Chemical peels are also a great option for a more in-depth treatment. These are great to do during the winter months as the sun and heat are an irritant post-treatment.
For gentlemen, we also offer a men’s facial that is tailored to the concerns of male skin, such as razor irritation, large pores and acne-prone skin.
It is important to take time out of your schedule and commit to self-care. This is the perfect time to address your skin concerns, whether that is acne, aging, dry or oily skin.
